Yesterday in new lows, Pumpkin--our dearly beloved, well-looked after, meticulously cared-for, much-snuggled, entirely well-fed cat who likes to drink the scungiest water he can find, preferably off the roller door roof--licked milk off the kitchen sink draining board and then proceeded to root through the scraps in the sink strainer to select his preferred morsels of revolting garbage to consume

You'd think he was the starvingest street cat ever to barely cling to life save by the grace of whatever he could scrounge from drains and dustbins

He remains my most adored garbage pail in feline form

A cat needs to prove his independence from time to time. If he can't do it by bringing you a dead bird, well, at least he can prove he can live on garbage ... ;)

Our half-Siamese is the SAME WAY. We've found him licking pans if I don't nag my dad to remove them from the stove because he acts as if he lives on our good humor instead of having senior-centered dry food AND wet food EVERY DAY.

He has also begun meowing very loudly if he feels my nap alarms aren't going to cut it.
