Mar. 29th, 2019 07:34 amShoutout to the pumpkin bread I made last night (I added walnuts for teh cronch) for being a really excellent breakfast this morning
Oh my god, it happened
Mar. 9th, 2019 07:14 amI just got an email from Tumblr saying I have had Adult Content flagged on my blog
I checked which post(s)... it's the one and only video of me in the extremely compromising position of introducing myself in Auslan, practising what I had learned in a class
Good job, Tumblr! Keep it up!
ETA: I appealed it, and it's been restored... yay....

IT'S TOO HOT
Mar. 2nd, 2019 10:42 amhot damn
Have pootered around a bit and done some housey things but boy howdy this heat is taking it out of me
Alas I have to go out to help at the school fundraiser BBQ (which I am currently objecting to less as I didn't have to do the other activity yesterday owing to The Heat)
Until then I shall slump in a beanbag and work on a crochet square and watch Midsomer Murders

First responder, gruff and laconic, wandering around with testing equipment: Oh yeah, there's something. *calls second responders to follow up*
Second responders: We'll be here in a couple of hours, just to check out the site, probably come back in the morning to do the work.
Second responders, showing up at midnight: Holy shit *jackhammers and repairs*
There is now a large patch of new asphalt in the back lane and blessedly NO smell of gas

I have successfully taught myself to do the weirdest thing ever, viz. knit on double-pointed needles, which is just RIDICULOUS, honestly why does this even work and who came up with it, I can't believe I'm learning how to do this just because I want to make socks
The project pictured is going to be a dice bag for my wife to use for her Blue Rose dice set 0:D

Ben came in great shuddering gasps, one hand braced against the wall as he stood under the streaming showerhead, breathing in the steam and exhaling the knowledge that John was unharmed, home safe, with Sarah.

Sunday Six
Jan. 28th, 2019 12:48 pmFrom a new WIP, zero draft, Midsomer OT3 fic I just started:
Without a doubt Sarah Barnaby was one of the most beautiful women Ben had ever met. But his Gran had taught him better than to dwell on fancying other blokes’ wives, so Ben kept his eyes and his thoughts on a tight and respectful leash, until two things brought it undone—
—the warmth and frankness of Sarah in their every interaction;
—Ben’s gradual realisation that he had fallen, equally hard, for John Barnaby himself.
It took John being threatened at gunpoint to make Ben see it; at home, in the shower, shaking with the aftershock of the confrontation in Midsomer Herne. Ben came in great shuddering gasps, one hand braced against the wall as he stood under the streaming showerhead, breathing in the steam and exhaling the knowledge that John was unharmed, home safe, with Sarah.
